Past Stride for Education results:
The Start
Student runners must report to the holding area at the WHS studium parking lot 15 minutes before the start of their race. Runners will be lead in a group warm up at the starting area. Parents will be in the stadium grandstands to cheer on finishers.
The Course
The student courses will wind along the paths around Washougal High and Gause Elementary. High school athletes will jog with the young runners to help guide and encourage them. There will also be plenty of adult volunteers along the route for safety and support. The 5K events wind through Washougal neighborhoods.
The Finish
Each run will finish at the WHS stadium. Runners will be greeted by a cheering crowd, a bottle of water and a medal for their achievement. Elementary students will wait in a secured holding area for adult pick up.
The Benefit
Proceeds from The Student Stride for Education provide exciting educational opportunities for Washougal students via teacher grants from the Washougal Schools Foundation. These grants fund programs and projects that otherwise would not be available. Runner fees cover event costs, so our wonderful donors and business sponsors provide the real fund raising power of this event.
Please help us bring exciting educational opportunities to our classrooms and reach our fundraising goals! Donate $10 or more before April 22, 2010 and have your name listed on The Stride shirt and event program!
Registration
We are no longer accepting online registrations for The Stride. Registration will be accepted on the morning of the event. See you there!
