Washougal Schools Foundation Community Service Scholarships
Purpose
This scholarship program is designed to recognize and reward students who have contributed to and involved themselves in the community and schools.
Amount of Award
The Washougal Schools Foundation will select four recipients and will award a $1,000 scholarship to each. Each scholarship provides $1,000 for tuition, books, and/or room and board. At least two of the scholarships will be awarded to students attending Washington state vocational schools, colleges or universities.
Eligibility Requirements
Recipients must be a senior, graduating from Washougal High School. Recipients must be planning to attend a vocational school, community college or a 4-year university during the next academic school year.
Applying for the Scholarship
Please complete an application. Include a short (one page) essay; discuss the importance of community involvement and serving as a role model.
Selection Criteria
The WSF Grant Selection Committee will consider the following criteria: Community Involvement, School Activities and Essay. Financial need is not a criterion; however, if a student is already a winner of a full scholarship and this award will not be meaningful, application should not be made. Scholarship recipients are selected without regard to race, color, religion, marital status, national origin, sex or handicap.
Payment of Award
Payments will be drafted to the institution and recipient then mailed to the institution for use during the next academic year.
