Overview

This scholarship program is designed to recognize and reward students who have contributed to and involved themselves in the community and schools.

Amount of Award

The Washougal Schools Foundation will select two (2) recipients and will award a $2,000 scholarship to each.  Each scholarship provides $1,000 each year for 2 consecutive years, to be used for tuition, books, and/or room and board.

Recipient must be a senior, graduating from Washougal School District.

Each distribution will be drafted to the institution and recipient then mailed to the institution for use during the next academic year. Students are responsible for providing instructions for the allocation of funds to Washougal Schools Foundation.

Eligibility Requirements

Recipients must be a senior, graduating from Washougal High School.  Recipients must be planning to attend a vocational school, community college or a 4-year university during the next academic school year.

Payment of Award

Payments will be drafted to the institution and recipient then mailed to the institution for use during the next academic year.

Selection Criteria

The WSF Grant Selection Committee will consider the following criteria:  Community Involvement, School Activities and Essay.  Financial need is not a criterion; however, if a student is already a winner of a full scholarship and this award will not be meaningful, application should not be made.  Scholarship recipients are selected without regard to race, color, religion, marital status, national origin, sex or handicap.

  • WSF makes it clear they want the grants to go towards a quality project that impacts as many students as possible. Teachers should definitely take advantage of this opportunity to enhance student engagement, experiences and learning opportunities for their classrooms.
